Description

The Red Bull Arena in Leipzig is a modern stadium that is the home stadium of RB Leipzig and the German national football team. Built in 1956, it originally had a capacity of 100,000 spectators and was called the Zentralstadion. Following its renovation in 1998 and subsequent lease by the Austrian company Red Bull GmbH in 2010, the stadium received a new name and modern facilities.

The Red Bull Arena is also famous for having hosted five matches of the 2006 FIFA World Cup, becoming the only stadium in the former GDR to have received this honor. During European matches, the stadium is called the RB Arena in accordance with UEFA sponsorship rules.
